Set Pro.Art is an original art oil painting to print on canvas studio in Paihia, New Zealand. Specializing in original oil paintings into print that will elevate your space and captivate your senses. This collection of oil paintings created by me, North-land Artist Ashley Baker, is the subject of the Waikare inlet in the Bay of Islands.NZ. Over a period of more than a decade I have been working towards realizing the sketches and paintings from this region together with an understanding of this part of the world left to run down dairy and oyster farms.

Abandoned by the milk run of the 1930's, flooding of the Waikino river of the 1990's, the area has been left to regenerate native bush and wet lands and the sea and tide protect this land locked region.

I focus on color ,form and light to make for an expressionist abstract landscape style with these paintings.

Some paintings maybe more impressionist as I lived in Paris for 15 years and having first hand experience viewing the Masters collections like Cezanne, Picasso, Monet and more . And that period in time  when chemist's and artist worked together to create the modern oil paint pallet.

The original Art material shop's in France and Paris are a wonder to behold.

The Waikare collection consists of paintings which I continued to develop into final works since returning back to the Bay of Islands from France.

New Zealand landscape has a rustic tone in many ways but the color and life next to the sea in the summer works for me.

Lived in this estuary for 2 years. Land locked boat access. Off grid.
